I have been going to the regularly. I have 3 different ones I can go to. I get there at least 4 times a week, and most often 5. I do cardio and then weights. One of those days each week, I will just do cardio...doing 3 miles. I've been on the treadmill or the elliptical. I've been doing intervals too where every 5 minutes I speed it up and run for 2 minutes. It is getting easier and I'm finding it fun. What I'm not noticing is any change in my weight. I'm actually up 3 pounds and I don't get it! The weights I'm doing are increasing. I'm finding them easier so increase the weight by 5 lbs. And, shoulders (which are probably my weakest) I was able to do 3 sets yesterday!!!! Woohoo. So, definitely getting stronger.
Ariel hasn't rolled over again since last Monday. I wonder if that was just a fluke? She has been sick over the weekend. Not too bad just some stuffy/runny nose stuff. May be allergies since the flowers and other allergens are in full bloom here in sunny Arizona!

Mobility begins
Ariel rolled over for the first time Monday (4/5) afternoon. It was about 1:15 or so. I had laid her down on her blanket in the front room and went into the kitchen to get something when she started crying her eyes out. I immediately ran to her (as this isn't like her) and found out the reason she was crying....she was on her tummy and Ariel doesn't like being on her tummy. As I had placed her down on her back, the only possibility is she rolled her self over. Yay Ariel!

Feeding Adventures
Ariel started whole foods on February 20. One day before turning 4 months old. She has to date had:
Rice Cereal
Peas (loves them)

Zucchini (loves them)
Butternut squash (loves)
Sweet Potatoes
Carrots (hates)
Asparagus (really, really hates...she started crying when I tried to feed it to her)
Apples
Bananas (loves)
Pears (not a fan)
Peaches
Oatmeal
We just finished the three days of peaches. She was okay with them. She seems to not like the sweet stuff too much. Next up this week new is Avocado and garlic. going to stirfry some garlic and zucchini for her!

Time to start Anew
Today is a new day, a new beginning. Life is good. You make it what you want it to be!
My baby girl, Ariel, is 5 months old. She is such a joy to behold. I never knew having a baby could be so much fun and bring so much joy. The thing I love best is her smile. She greets me every morning with a big grin when I get her out of bed. It brightens my day. She is growing fast and should be rolling over any day now. She has begun to scoot around in a circle on the floor and loves chewing on everything! Can we say drool? It is a privilege to watch her grow.
I have been working out at the gym regularly. It is nice to have a gym which has childcare available. I do have to pre-schedule it and I know that if I wasn't doing that, I probably wouldn't be working out as much as I am. I currently at 4 days a week for 1hour and am increasing that to 5-6 as time/childcare/etc allows. Currently on the treadmill I am doing an interval of sorts...I walk at 4.0 for 6 minutes, then run at 5.2 for 2 minutes...do this 3-4 times depending if I'm doing 30 or 45 minutes cardio. If I'm on the elliptical, I am sure to increase speed at 6 minutes also. I like to switch between the two cardio machines. I am also doing weights. Legs, Arms, Chest is my switch up and I do some abdominals everyday. Having a baby really, really weakened them. I have already seen an improvement as I can do 40 crunches on the ab machine at 20 lbs. The first time I did it, I couldn't even move the machine and tweaked out about 5 at 10 lbs. So, definite improvement.
I have joined up on Buffmother.com for the Sexy in 70 challenge. I am hoping it will help me to stay motivated as well as give me new ideas for workouts! I want to lose this excessive weight I have and look and feel GOOD!
